Junk removal companies serving Dallas

Dallas is the oldest incorporated town in Gaston County, and it was the county seat until 1911. A good part of the county's waste system still lives here. The landfill and the Hardin Recycling Center share an address on Philadelphia Church Road, and household hazardous waste events are held on Leisure Lane.

Below are junk removal companies that list Dallas in their service area. We list them; we don't haul. Before you call one, read about the town's free bulk months and its overnight truck further down.

Featured is a paid spot and is always labeled. Every other company here is listed free, grouped and ordered the way How we list explains. Listings were checked against each company's own pages in October 2026. Confirm prices and availability with the company before you book.

Disposal is close, so labor is most of the bill

In a lot of places, junk removal prices get blamed on dump fees. Here the dump is in town. The Gaston County Landfill at 3155 Philadelphia Church Road posts $46 per ton for construction debris and $26 per ton for yard waste, each with a half-ton minimum.

Local tipping fees are low, so when a company prices heavy material by weight, it is mostly pricing what its truck can carry. What you pay a hauler for a Dallas job is largely the truck, the time and the people doing the lifting. Keep that in mind when two quotes for the same pile look far apart.

How Charlotte-area companies price a load

Most companies working this area sell space on a truck that holds roughly 14 to 18 cubic yards, in quarter or eighth steps. Published prices from Charlotte-area companies (October 2026) put the median minimum charge near $108, a quarter truck near $241, a half truck near $431 and a full truck near $700. Those medians come from a handful of companies and are not a promise of what any company will charge you.

Ask four things before anything is loaded. Is the price by volume or by weight? Does it include loading, stairs and a sweep-up? Are there separate fees for mattresses, refrigerators, TVs or tires? And where does the load go: donation, recycling, or the landfill on Philadelphia Church Road?

Free months, an overnight truck, or a hauler

Dallas Public Works runs free bulk pickup for residential households in May and September. Outside those months, the town can drop off a truck for you to load overnight and collect it the next day. That costs a fee based on the weight disposed plus labor and truck rental, and trucks are limited and handed out first come, first served. Call (980) 745-5197, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Both town programs leave the carrying to you. If you have help and the items can reach the curb or the truck, the town is the cheaper route. A junk removal company makes more sense when the pieces are upstairs, when a move date falls between the free months, or when the job is a hot tub or a packed garage.

What stays out of a junk load

Most haulers won't take oil-based paint, pesticides, pool chemicals or old gasoline. Gaston County collects those from residents at household hazardous waste events at 200 Leisure Lane, held four times a year from 8:00 to 11:30 AM. The county posts each date. You stay in your vehicle, so box your items and sort them by type. Latex paint is simpler: the landfill takes it by appointment, up to 25 gallons per person per day, through 704-922-7729.

The landfill has a clock on it, too. The county says its current permitted cells hold about five more years of waste, and an on-site expansion has been proposed. Our Where to take it guide keeps hours and fees for the county sites in one place.

Dallas's own bulk pickup

Dallas offers free bulk pickup for residential households in May and September. Separately, Public Works can deliver a truck for you to load overnight and retrieve it the next day, for a fee based on weight disposed plus labor and truck rental. Trucks are limited and first come, first served. Public Works: (980) 745-5197, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Dallas junk removal questions

How much does junk removal cost in Dallas, NC?
Published prices from Charlotte-area companies (October 2026) put the median at about $108 for a minimum pickup, $241 for a quarter truck and $431 for a half truck. Your own price depends on volume, heavy material, stairs and special items such as mattresses or refrigerators. Treat those figures as a guide, not a quote, and get the price in writing before loading starts.
When does Dallas pick up bulk items for free?
Public Works lists free bulk pickup for residential households in May and September. Call (980) 745-5197, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, to confirm the dates and what can go out. Between those months, the town's paid overnight truck is the other public option, and you load it yourself.
Can I take a mattress to the Hardin Recycling Center?
Yes, if you live in Gaston County. Hardin, at 3155 Philadelphia Church Road, takes mattresses and box springs for two GarbCards ($10) each. GarbCards are prepaid, and the site doesn't take cash. Hardin is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:30 PM. The county's map marks yard waste as not accepted there.
Should I ask a hauler where my junk ends up?
Yes. Ask whether usable furniture goes to donation, whether metal and appliances get recycled, and what goes to the county landfill. In Dallas that landfill is close by, and the county says its current cells have about five more years of permitted space. A company that sorts its loads sends less of your pile there.
How do I get my company listed for Dallas?
Use the Get listed page. A standard listing is free, and the list of companies on this page is not paid placement. Each town page has one Featured spot at the top, which is paid and always labeled as Featured. You can read the full rules on our How we list page.
