Privacy policy
Plain language: what we collect, why, and your choices. Last updated 2026-10-13.
Using the directory
You can browse this site without giving us anything. When you call or visit a company from a listing, you are dealing with that company directly: we don’t route, record or listen to those calls, and that company’s own privacy practices apply.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits, which company listings are shown on each page, which ones visitors open, and taps on the phone numbers, website links and review links in listings. Those counts tell us which pages are useful and show listed companies how many people reached them. They describe the companies, not you: we don’t send your name, phone number or anything you type to Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address and browser details; we don’t use it for advertising, and it does not load at all for visitors whose browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
Session recordings
This site uses Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors move, click and scroll on our pages (session replays and heatmaps), so we can fix what is confusing. The business inquiry form is masked and never recorded. Clarity sets cookies and receives your IP address and browser details, and it does not load for visitors whose browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. See Microsoft’s privacy statement for how Microsoft handles this data.
Our own click records
When you tap a company’s phone number, website or reviews link, or open a company’s page from a list, this site also records the tap on our own server: which company, the page and list it was on and its position, the town page, the name of the site that sent you here (for example, google.com), and a random visit number that is forgotten when you close the tab. We don’t store your IP address, browser details or anything that identifies you with these records. They let us show listed companies how many people reached them, including visitors whose browsers block analytics.
Links to company websites include a tag (utm_source=junkremovalgaston) so the company can see in its own analytics that the visit came from this directory. The tag says where the visit came from, not who you are.
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) for up to 30 days, for security and to count visits.
The business inquiry form
If you use the Get listed form, we collect what you type (your name, business name, phone, optional email and website, the towns you serve and your message), plus details that help us keep a record of the request: the page you were on, how you reached the site, the time, your IP address and your browser type. We use it to answer you, update listings and talk with you about Featured placement. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Text messages
We only send text messages if you check the text consent box on the form or text us first. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase or listing.
