Junk removal companies serving McAdenville

McAdenville is small, with 890 residents at the 2020 census and one ZIP code, 28101. Its weekly trash service runs through a contractor, and the town has not posted any rules for couches, appliances or other large items. That makes the companies listed below more useful here than in towns with a bulk week. We check listings before they appear and keep this page updated, but we don't haul anything ourselves.

Featured is a paid spot and is always labeled. Every other company here is listed free, grouped and ordered the way How we list explains. Listings were checked against each company's own pages in October 2026. Confirm prices and availability with the company before you book.

Christmas Town in the off-season

The town is named for Rufus Yancey McAden, president of McAden Mills, and incorporated in 1881. Pharr Yarns was founded here in 1939. Since 1956 the Christmas Town USA lights have drawn crowds, now more than 600,000 vehicles a year.

The rest of the year it is a quiet mill town on the South Fork Catawba River, with McAdenville Lake behind a dam and a historic district listed on the National Register in 2009. I-85 at Exit 23 is the way in and out, for haulers and for you if you drive a load to a county site.

Ask the contractor first

The town's services page covers Monday cart collection by its contractor, Waste Pro, and says nothing about bulk items. The town sends questions about acceptable items to Waste Pro at (980) 468-1900, and Town Hall is at 704-824-3190. A short call can save you money.

If the answer is no, you have two paths. Drive the items to a county recycling center yourself, or hire one of the companies on this page. The choice usually comes down to weight, stairs and whether you own a truck.

Small jobs and the minimum charge

If your job is one or two items, such as a recliner, an old washer or a mattress, the minimum charge is the number that matters. Junk removal companies set a floor for small loads. In published prices from Charlotte-area companies (October 2026), minimums run from $75 to $150, with a median of about $108. That is a reference range, not an offer from anyone listed.

Ask what the minimum includes. Some companies build a set amount of loading time into each tier and bill extra time by the hour. Ask whether a mattress, a TV or a refrigerator adds a fee on top. If a neighbor also has a single item, ask whether one stop for both changes the price. The furniture removal and mattress removal pages go deeper.

Driving it to the county yourself

Gaston County's full-service recycling centers take bulky household garbage and each mattress or box spring for 2 GarbCards ($10). Emptied, cleaned appliances and scrap metal are free, and a TV or monitor is 1 GarbCard ($5). The sites run Monday through Saturday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and on Sunday afternoons, and they don't take cash.

Riverbend in Mount Holly and Crowders Creek in Gastonia are two of them. Construction debris is the exception, since it goes to the county landfill in Dallas instead. The Where to take it guide has addresses for each site.

McAdenville's own bulk pickup

McAdenville does not publish a bulk pickup program. The town services page covers weekly Monday cart collection by its contractor, Waste Pro, and lists no bulk-item rules or fees. The town directs questions about acceptable items to Waste Pro at (980) 468-1900. Town Hall is at 704-824-3190.

McAdenville junk removal questions

Does McAdenville have bulk trash pickup?
Not that the town publishes. Its services page covers weekly Monday cart pickup by Waste Pro and lists no bulk-item rules or fees. Call Waste Pro at (980) 468-1900 or Town Hall at 704-824-3190 to ask what they will take. If they can't help, a county recycling center or one of the haulers listed here is the next step.
How much does junk removal cost in McAdenville?
For a sense of scale, published prices from Charlotte-area companies (October 2026) put the median small-load minimum near $108 and the median quarter truck at $241. These are medians drawn from company price pages, and the businesses listed here may quote above or below them. Stairs, heavy debris and special items such as mattresses or refrigerators can all add cost.
Where can I drop off a mattress near McAdenville?
Any of Gaston County's full-service recycling centers, including Riverbend in Mount Holly and Crowders Creek in Gastonia, will take it for 2 GarbCards ($10) per piece. The cards are prepaid, and there is no cash at the gate. The Habitat ReStore turns mattresses away, and the county lists them as disposal items rather than recycling.
Can I throw out an old TV with the trash?
No. North Carolina has banned televisions and computer equipment from landfills since July 1, 2011. County full-service recycling centers take TVs and monitors for 1 GarbCard ($5) each, and computers, printers and game consoles at no charge. If you hire a hauler, ask whether it charges an electronics fee and where the set ends up.
Can my company be listed for McAdenville?
Yes. Fill out the Get listed page. It is free to be listed for McAdenville, and nobody can pay to move up the regular list. The town page does offer one Featured position, rented by a single company and labeled as such. Details are on how we list.
