Stanley junk removal
Stanley's junk weeks cost $5 or $10 an item on your water bill, which is hard to beat for a few pieces. For anything bigger or sooner, the companies listed here are the other route.
Town details from official town and county sources, checked October 2026.
Stanley began as Brevard Station, got a rail line to Charlotte in 1860, and grew up around the cotton mill that became Lola Manufacturing in 1918. Today the 28164 ZIP reaches well past town limits, north toward Lake Norman.
The list below shows junk removal companies that say they serve Stanley. We check the public rules, not the work, so read each listing and ask for a written price. Then hold it up against the town's next junk week.
Featured is a paid spot and is always labeled. Every other company here is listed free, grouped and ordered the way How we list explains. Listings were checked against each company's own pages in October 2026. Confirm prices and availability with the company before you book.

During its scheduled Junk & Yard Waste Pick-Up weeks, Stanley charges $5 for each bulky item such as a bed or couch and $10 for each white good such as a dryer or refrigerator. The fee lands on your water bill. In 2026 the town calendar showed those weeks in early April and early May.
Run the numbers before you call anyone. A couch, a bed and a washer would add $20 to your bill. Published prices from Charlotte-area companies (October 2026) put a hauler's median minimum charge near $108, and that buys only a small slice of the truck. If you can get the pieces to the curb and the timing works, the town wins on cost.
The math flips when you have more than a few pieces, when nobody in the house can carry them, or when the next scheduled week is months away. At that point you are paying for labor and timing, and that is what the companies listed here sell.
Stanley does not collect tires, paint, long fluorescent bulbs or chemicals, and the town says it can no longer pick up tires. Passenger tires can go to a Gaston County convenience site, five per person per day, free off the rim or one GarbCard ($5) on it. Latex paint and fluorescent bulbs go to the county landfill in Dallas by appointment through 704-922-7729.
If you hand those items to a hauler instead, raise them up front. Among published prices from Charlotte-area companies, the only local tire fee was $8 per tire. Most companies don't take paint or chemicals at all, since the county collects those at its household hazardous waste events.
Ask whether the price is by volume or by weight, and whether loading, stairs and a sweep-up are included. Some Charlotte-area companies publish no stairs fee, while others add $25 to $50 per flight. Get the price before anything goes on the truck, and ask whether usable pieces go to donation.
Appliances deserve their own question. Refrigerators and freezers hold refrigerant, and some companies add a fee for it while others fold it into the item price. Our appliance removal page goes through what to ask.
The 28164 ZIP runs north through unincorporated land as far as the southwestern corner of Lake Norman, in Lincoln County. If your mailing address says Stanley but you live outside town limits, ask Town Hall at 704-263-4779 whether junk week covers you. Gaston County's convenience sites serve Gaston County residents, so a Lincoln County address has to look to its own county.
The same check applies to the companies below. Each listing shows the area a company says it covers, so match it against your street address, not only the ZIP. You can also browse every listed company if you want more names.
