Ranlo junk removal
Ranlo hasn't published a bulk pickup program. Here are the junk removal companies that serve the town, plus the county options for hauling it yourself.
Town details from official town and county sources, checked October 2026.
Ranlo is a town of 4,511 (2020 census) that shares ZIP code 28054 with part of Gastonia. Its posted garbage rules cover the weekly cart and say little about couches or appliances. That leaves two routes for big items: a county recycling center or one of the companies listed below. We review each listing against our rules and keep the page current, but no truck goes out under our name.
Featured is a paid spot and is always labeled. Every other company here is listed free, grouped and ordered the way How we list explains. Listings were checked against each company's own pages in October 2026. Confirm prices and availability with the company before you book.

The name joins Rankin and Love, for industrialists John Calvin Rankin and William Thomas Love. Rex Spinning, Ranlo Manufacturing and Priscilla Spinning opened between 1915 and 1921, and the Smyre community grew around A. M. Smyre Manufacturing in 1917. The two incorporated together in 1963, partly out of concern about annexation by Gastonia.
Mill row houses from the 1920s and 1930s still stand, along with the Smyre mill village. A house close to a century old can hold a lot: inherited furniture, appliances that quit long ago, boxes nobody has opened. See estate cleanouts for what to ask before a whole-house job.
Ranlo's published Garbage and Bulk Pickup Rules describe one 95-gallon can per household. Brush, metal appliances and construction debris must be kept apart from garbage. Televisions, computers, tires on rims, paint cans and contractor debris are not collected.
We could not find a published bulk schedule or fee. That doesn't mean the town can't help, only that you should ask before setting anything out. Call Town Hall at 704-824-3461 or Public Works at 704-824-4013.
Older houses add two cost factors: stairs and tight access. Some Charlotte-area companies charge nothing for stairs, while others publish a fee for each flight. Ask before the visit, and mention attics or basements when you describe the job.
Then ask how the price is set. Most companies quote by volume, and published prices from Charlotte-area companies (October 2026) show a median of $579 for three quarters of a truck and about $700 for a full one. Plaster, brick or old tile may be priced by weight instead. These figures are for comparison only and bind no one listed here. If the job includes a mattress, a refrigerator or a TV, name it when you ask for the price, since those items often carry their own fee.
Last, ask where things go. Furniture in good shape can go to donation, metal and electronics to recycling, and debris to the county landfill in Dallas.
Tryon, Riverbend, Crowders Creek and Hardin all take bulky household items, mattresses and appliances from county residents. Bulky items and each mattress or box spring cost 2 GarbCards ($10). Emptied, cleaned appliances and scrap metal are free. Passenger tires go free off the rim, up to five a day, or 1 GarbCard ($5) each on the rim.
The Habitat ReStore at 1840 E Franklin Blvd in Gastonia takes sofas, dressers, tables and bookshelves in good shape, but not mattresses or entertainment centers. The Where to take it guide has hours and addresses.
Ranlo does not publish a bulk pickup program. Its Garbage and Bulk Pickup Rules cover regular cart service only: one 95-gallon can, with brush, metal appliances and construction debris kept separate from garbage. Televisions, computers, tires with rims, paint cans and contractor debris are not collected. No bulk schedule or fee is listed. Ask Town Hall (704-824-3461) or Public Works (704-824-4013) how large items are handled at your address.

Gaston County's recycling centers are for county residents, and any resident can use any site. These two take household trash, bulky items, appliances and recycling. The full guide lists every site, plus the landfill and hazardous waste events.
Usable furniture and household goods can often be donated. Each place sets its own rules, so check before you load the car.
Listing is free. Fix your details, add your company, or ask about the Featured spot on your town's page.
